Want to Participate? — Here's How |
| Would you like to participate in our parade event? There's nothing to it. Just show up on parade day (July 3, 2011) by 3:00pm and you're on. Everyone is welcome to help us celebrate our nation's birthday! Just be sure that what you bring to enter in the parade has something attached to it that's red, white and blue! There will be signs posted to direct you to the staging area for the parade line-up. Bring your mules, your wagons, your antique tractors or cars, floats (with a theme for July 4th, of course), and especially yourself. Do you know how to bake a fantastic apple pie? Maybe you have your grandma's old award-winning recipe? Then bring one (or two!) and enter them in the Apple Pie Contest. The only "rules" for this contest is that the pie has to contain real apples and must be baked in a pie plate. Other than that, your imagination is the limit. This year are also planning a Quilt Show as part of the festivities. If you make quilts and would like to display them at this event, please contact us for more information. Not into being on display? That's all right, too. Bring your lawn chair and come prepared to feast on some delicious apple pie, home-cranked ice cream (fresh blackberry is a favorite!), grilled hamburgers and hotdogs (with all the fixin's), and bluegrass Gospel singing. You'll be well fed by the time the evening is over. |
